Bangladeshi Racer Tushar gets local sponsor to race in India

The first ever Bangladeshi karting champion, Tushar, finally gets full support from Bangladesh´s SHAH Cements to race in the Indian Championship and to become Bangladesh´s first ever Formula racer.

Originating from a middle class family, Tushar managed to participate in Round 1 and Round 2 of the 2013 JK Racing Championship with his own funds but had to sit out of Round 3 in Noida as he was unable to bear the cost for the participation.

Now Tushar has a sponsor to carry on his racing dreams and is all set to take part in the final round of LGB F4 in Noida in December and also a full season next year with the backing of Bangladeshi company Shah Cements.

Formula LGB 4 is the grass root of formula racing in India and one of the most affordable and cost effective series in Asia while also proving to be more competitive and first step for professional racing.

Tushar said: "India is a great place to begin racing for us and has always been a good platform to get into Asian and European Series. This is the most cost effective championship in Asia and also has good competition to learn."

Tushar has been trying to get sponsors for this costly sport for the past one year, but once he took part in the first two rounds, he says people got interested.

Tushar continued "To participate in the Formula LGB4 for a season it costs 4lakhs Indian Rupees which is approximate 10lakhs Bangladeshi Taka. I knocked up so many multinational company in Bangladesh especially automobile related and most of their answer was "NO" but i didn´t give up even from last year. But when i completed my 1st and 2nd rounds there was little bit interest and when I was no longer able to attend the championship lacking funds, SHAH Cements decided to help me out."

The announcement was made by Shah Cement with a press meet in Dhaka, Bangladesh last week.

Tushar said "Shah Cement is a legendary cement brand in Bangladesh, They are really so much kind for young people like me. They are feeling proud to support me as the first Bangladeshi Professional Racer and i am feeling proud too to become a part of Shah Cement Company Family"

Tushar will take part in the final round of the 2013 JK Racing Championship at the Buddh International Circuit in the Formula LGB F4 category on Nov 30–Dec 1 with Bangalore based Avalanche Racing Team and with the branding of Shah Cements (Bangladesh).

India has become a desitination for cost effective racing for many foriegn nationals like Tushar. Even the young British drivers take part in the MRF F2000 Challenge during their winter break to hone their skills at a fraction of the cost compared to Europe. Also Ashish Narrandes, a South African national of Indian origin too has shifted to India to start a career in racing.
