R.I.P: Sean Edwards dies in crash
Sean Edwards, 26yrs old Porsche Supercup driver from Britian & son of former F1 driver Guy Edwards dies in a crash in Australia while coaching another driver at Queensland Speedway.
The training car hit a concrete wall at the Queensland Raceway and caught fire instantly killing Sean who was a passenger while the 20yrs old Australian driver is in critical condition with severe injuries and burns. Sean is currently leading the Porsche Supercup championship with just one round to go.
Rescue officials confirm it took 2-3 hours to extract the injured driver and Sean from the wreckage.
Apart from being a full time racer, Sean was also coaching young drivers around the world and for which the racer had come to Australia.
Sean had also acted in the movie Rush enacting the role of his heroic father, Guy Edwards, who pulls and saves the injured Niki Lauda from the fired Ferrari.
Sean´s last tweet on twitter on October 14th read "Time to hit Queensland Raceway today, should be fun, hope there aren´t too many kangaroos like at Bathurst"
