Madras Motorsports clubs has plans to introduce a 250cc Groub B Open class
Madras motor sports club, organizers of the National Motorcycling Championships in conjunction with FMSCI has planned to introduce a new 250cc open class from 2012 to prepare Indian riders to have an entry level in the international scene. As next year the 125cc 2stroke machines will be replaced 250cc 4stroke´Moto3´ in the MotoGP World Championship series and other international series, its time for the Indian organizers to have platform to train and equip our riders in those kinds of machinery.
MMSC had discussions with current teams participating in the National championships and has proposed the idea of new 250cc open class to be added from 2012.
The final decision will be made on September 2nd after hearing from the teams. "We have given a proposal to the teams, its still on talks and the teams have asked for some time to decide so they can do their homework on the costs and other things. The Final decision will be made on September 2nd" said Amit.
Currently MMSC organizes the National championship approved by the FMSCI with Group A–600cc imported bikes (Indian Superbikes), Group B 165cc Open, Group D I65cc open and novice and Group D 130cc Open and Novice categories while also conducting One Make Series Races for Honda and Yamaha.
