Jehan Daruvala qualifies 3^rd at Red Bull Ring 

Sahara Force India Academy racer – Jehan Daruvala impressed in Qualifying at the Red Bull Ring for Round 3 of the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC Series. The 7 round series returns to the Austrian venue & the weekend will see the racers battle for glory over 3 races instead of the usual 2.

Qualifying for race 1 saw Jehan as the top placed rookie & was 3^rd overall in a 20 competitor strong grid. He clocked a best laptime of 1:31.530, just 4 tenths of a second behind Louis Deletraz of Switzerland who was fastest overall. Kevin Jorg also of Switzerland was 2^nd.

For Qualifying session 2 – Jehan was once again the top placed rookie driver. In 3^rd overall Jehan said “I hoped to close the gap to the leaders but it wasn’t enough” This time the top 2 swapped positions from the earlier session with Kevin Jorg now on top of the table.

For race 3 Jehan will unfortunately start in 12^th position. For Race 3, the 2^nd best lap from Qualifying session 1 would count. Jehan’s 2^nd best time from that session was however removed from the time sheets by the officials after Jehan was forced to leave the track limits to avoid another driver who had an incident right in front of him. His 3^rd best lap was therefore counted & that was good enough for only 12^th overall.

Jehan currently lies 4^th in the Rookie category of the 7 round series.
