Chennai’s karters inch closer to Red Bull Kart Fight supremacy
Chennai, December 10, 2011: Clad in race gear with helmets buckled and seated in their karts were Chennai’s fastest karters waiting for the lights to turn green at the city’s Kart Attack.
Battling it out for karting supremacy and a shot at the finals, the participants were cheered by fans on the sidelines at Red Bull Kart Fight. 32 participants pushed their karts to the maximum to finish in the top 11 and book their tickets to the national finals in Bangalore. The national champion will win a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the Red Bull Racing headquarters in Milton Keyes, UK.
The 11 young karters who will represent their city at the National Final are:

These 11 karters will now face off against competition from Bangalore and Hyderabad at the Grand final, slated to be held in Bangalore on December 18, 2011. On-hand in Bangalore will be India’s first Formula One driver, Narain Karthikeyan.
Red Bull Kart Fight has come to India for the first time, after gaining accolades in Netherlands, Japan, Germany and other Formula 1 venues. The fight for being crowned the best karter in India began on November 24, 2011 across Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The initiative has received a total participation of over 600 motorsports enthusiasts for the qualifying rounds, across the three cities. Having been the genesis of many a Formula One champion, Red Bull Kart Fight aims to take Indian enthusiasts from the Kart to the Car.
