Francesco Mauriello and Sarath Kumar this weekend moved to Spain to take part in the Spanish Racing Championship CEV Buckler, just opened by the first round of the season held at the Andalusian circuit of Jerez.
Lack of pre season testing took the team and rider by surprise as Sarath had to experience and race a superior 2stroke grand prix machine for the time in his career which isnowhere comparable to the less grade 4stroke racing bikes available in India. Sarath's lack of experience on the bike was a handicap and he failed to qualify for the races in the world championships, whereas his competitors from Europe and East Asia have had access to similar machinery as used in the world championships.
The undetered WTR-Ten10 racing team inorder give its ridera few more exposure to the high level competition and practical racing track experience on the bike, entered its riders to the highly competitive Spanish National Racing Series CEV Buckler.
Both riders qualified for the race and Francesco finished on 16th position and Sarath finished 26th, as he crashed in the race on lap 10 and had to remount on the damaged bike to finish the race.
This was surely intented to give Sarath and Francesco some more training to prepare for the rest of the season in the 125cc MotoGP World Championships and its hoped that Sarath would get a better understanding of the bike and its characteristics. Sarath has already showed improvement as he cut 1.5secs of his best lap time in Jerez, a time which would have easily qualified him for the bygone Jerez round.
The team would participate their boys for another round in the CEV Buckler Spanish Championship which will be held in Aragon on May 8th after the 3rd round of the World Championships in Estoril on May 1st and then continuing with the regular MotoGP calender.
