Force India Academy driver Jehan Daruvala gears up for 2014 in European Senior Karting

03 Mar 2014 : Sahara Force India´s Academy racer, Jehan Daruvala, moves a step closer to realising his Formula One ambitions this year as he competes in various Senior European Karting Championships.

Having enjoyed great success in 2013 by winning the British KFJ Championship, the 15-year-old from Mumbai is this year competing against older and more experienced drivers across Europe. He will be participating in the German National Championship beside the WSK and CIK races in Europe.

The step up to senior karting is likely to be a two-year programme with Jehan focussed on gaining experience this year as he competes against the best European racers. A year of learning in 2014 will prepare Jehan for full assault on the title in 2015.

Already Jehan has shown well in the Winter Cup held at Lonato where he qualified P18 of 49 drivers. Strong showings in the heats paved the way for a ninth place finish in the Final, with Jehan setting the fastest lap along the way.
Unfortunately, Jehan’s racing plans have been temporarily put on hold following a cycling accident while training. He is expected to be out of action for a month as a result of breaking his right thumb.

Jehan is planning his return to competitive action at the WSK race at Sarno on 22nd and 23rd of March.
