Dani Pedrosa rose to a fantastic victory leaving Marquez & Lorenzo to fight it out in Sepang
Dani Pedrosa rose to victory in Malaysia after being taken out by Marquez in the last race at Aragon. The Repsol Honda rider braved pain from the Aragon crash to come on top ahead of successful team mate Marc Marquez who is about to clinch his world championship in the coming races.
At the start it was Lorenzo from the second row blasting ahead of team mate Rossi into C1 bringing along Dani Pedrosa while Marquez sneaked into 3rd pushing Rossi to 4th. The four factory riders were close to together in the initial laps with Bautista joining the group as they started to break away from the rest of the pack. Lorenzo was so strong and didnt give any room to the Repsol Honda while Rossi's attempts to challenge Marquez failed and fell into the clucthes of Bautista.
Bautista managed to tag along with the leaders giving a hard time to Rossi until he braked too deep seeing Rossi wobble on the brakes into C1 and trying to sneak a chance but went wide and fell beind to fight out with Crutchlow.
Valentino Rossi tried to stick out with the leaders but was missing the trick meanwhile Pedrosa mustered through Lorenzo to go into the lead and break away. Marquez too managed to take advantage of Pedrosa's hard move on Lorenzo but the world champion had other plans in mind.
Lorenzo played hard with Marquez to show he too can be aggressive and hasnt lost his antics over the years. Marquez tried couple of moves but Lorenzo threw back immediately holding the rookie behing which gave Pedrosa the cushion. Over the laps when Lorenzo started to slide a bit, Marquez made another move which was not easily let down by Lorenzo who held on the outside right to the edge of the kerbs allowing the championship elect to grab second while Rossi started to drop down.
Pedrosa didn't give any chance for his team mate to gasp as they both lapped equal times, Marquez tried to catch in on the leading but latter decided to play safe on the title and started to ease in the final 5laps which allowed his senior team mate to win 2.7secs clear of him. Lorenzo came in 3rd 6.6secs down on the leader while team mate Rossi came in futher 4secs down.
Bautista got better of Crutchlow to grab 5th while Bradley Smith (Tech3 Yamaha) finished 7th behind his team mate.
Ducati's Dovizioso came in 8th while team mate Hayden retired mid race with a smoke in his bike. CRT riders Esparago and Hernandez completed the top 10.
