Despite a session stopping late crash in Qualifying after grabbing pole , Mahi Racing Team India´s Kawasaki rider Kenan Sofuoglu overcame a 3 rider battle for victory in Magny–Cours, the penultimate round of World Supersport Championship.

The race was close between Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki), Sam Lowes (Yamaha) & Christian Iddon (MV Agusta) and was won Sofuoglu of Turkey. The race was red flagged on the last lap as Christian Iddon experienced a huge high side while running third and the previous laps standing was counted for result.

Kenan took the top spot followed by Sam Lowes, who clinched the 2013 World Supersport Championship from the winner. Christian Iddon managed to join the podium ceremony after grabbing his maiden podium.

Reigning World Champion Kenan Sofuoglu had 3 DNFs this season (2 crashes and 1 retirement) and a cancelled race in Russia gave away the title to opponent Sam Lowes with 1 round to go in Jerez.
