Marc Marquez stormed to grab his second MotoGP career pole in LeMans

Young Rookie Marc Marquez of Repsol Honda grabbed his second MotoGP career pole in LeMans, France in his fourth MotoGP race. Marquez broke the record becoming the youngest MotoGP polesitter earlier in Austin, Texas and is also the youngest MotoGP winner and Championship leader.

Marc Marquez stromed to pole in his second bike after a crash in the closing stages of Practice 4 while team mate Dani Pedrosa crashed in the same spot during the first run of Q2 which cost him front row. Pedrosa managed to get back on track with his second bike but was not able to improve on his lap time which put him 6th on the grid.

Reigining World Champion Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha was consistent over the session and was second fastest while team mate Valentino Rossi failed again to master the new qualifying format and managed just 8th fastest.

The surprise attack came from Ducati´s Andrea Dovizioso who grabbed the final front row spot on the grid just ahead of Cal Crutchlow on the Satellite Yamaha who was 4th fastest despite crashing in Practice 4 and fracturing his chin bone in the knee.

Bradl came in 5th fastest and Bautista 7th fastest. Bradley Smith and Nicky Hayden completed the top 10.

Alexis Espargaro came in as the top CRT rider.
