Marc Marquez grabs his first ever MotoGP career pole at Austin

MotoGP rookie and Moto2 Champion Marc Marquez blasted to a superb maiden MotoGP career pole in Austin, Texas. He overthrew efforts of expert compatriot & team mate Dani Pedrosa and World Champion compatriot Jorge Lorenzo to grab his first pole in MotoGP in only his second ever race and in the process broke Casey Stoner's record of youngest pole sitter in MotoGP. 

The factory Hondas of Marquez and Pedrosa have a clear advantage over Yamaha as Lorenzo is over a second off the  pole man. Cal Crutchlow on the satellite Tech 3 Yamaha is 4th fastest. Stefan Bradl on the works LCR Honda came in 5th ahead of the Ducati of Andrea Dovisiozo and Alvaro Bautista's Go Green Honda.

Valentino Rossi yet again lost in qualifying as he was suffereing with braking in the first section of the track and managed only 8th fastest ahead of Espargaro and Nicky Hayden. 

Bradley Smith on thhe second Tech 3 Yamaha came in 11th ahead of the Satellite Ducati's of Ben Spies and Andrea Iannone.

Randy De Puniet is the top CRT rider ahead of Hector Barbera and Yonny HERNANDEZ
