Ikhwan claims JK Racing Asia Series Round 11 pole with Jeffri taking Round 12

Afiq Ikhwan and Nabil Jeffri claimed one pole position each for JK Racing Asia Series Rounds 11 & 12 held this weekend at Buddh International Circuit. Meritus.GP’s Ikhwan set the fastest time of the day with 1:59.233 to claim pole for Round 11 with Jeffri, from Eurointernational, in second.

The second best time from Qualifying determines the grid position for Round 12. Jeffri’s second best time of 1:59.433 was enough for him to claim pole for the second race ahead of Ikhwan.

Jeffri’s teammate, 16 year old Aston Hare seem to have made a fantastic recovery from his injury, enough to claim third for both races. He will line up next to Indian superstar driver, Aditya Patel of US Formula Project.

Aidan Wright was the surprise of the day when midway through the session, he set the fastest lap which was then broken by his Meritus.GP teammate, Earl Bamber. Wright and Bamber will start Round 11 in fifth and sixth, while Round 12 in eighth and fifth respectively.

Eurointernational’s Danial Hidzir will start seventh and sixth while his teammate Akhil Khushlani will complete row four for Round 11 and start in seventh for Round 12.

They will be followed by US Formula Project’s Calvin Wong and Raj Bharath who is making an appearance with Meco Racing alongside Visnu Prasad who lines in eleventh.

Thailand’s Toby Earle had a spin midway through the session and touched the barrier damaging the rear of his car. His earlier time places him in twelfth.

Mahara’s Karminder Singh, US Formula Project’s Ashraff Dewal and Meco Racing duo Akhil Rabindra and Chetan Koarada completes the lineup for both Rounds.

JK Racing Asia Series Round 11 will be held on Saturday 27 October 2012 at 3.30pm local time and Round 12 is scheduled to be held at 12 noon on Sunday 28 October.
