Sailesh Bolisetti has been denied Visa to take part in the British GT Championship Round 5

"Looks like I'm going to miss the Round 5 of the BritishGT because of a Visa officer who refused the Visa sayin I might settle in UK" said Sailesh Bolisetti in his social media status.

The  British GT winner and 2010 VW Polo Champion raced one whole year in Germany (VW Scirocco Cup) in 2011 and signed with Lotus Sport UK to drive in the British GT championship (GT4 Category) this year. Driving the Lotus Evora GT4, Sailesh and team finished 2nd in the debut race and won the race in the Nurburging round. Sailesh experienced car failures in the next two rounds.

With the 5th round underway on August 5th and 4th, Sailesh Bolisetti has been denied Visa by the British Embassy.

Asked whether he furnished all proofs of his accomplishment, Sailesh said " Gave them all the info..They just said that the probability of me stay in back in UK is more!! As if I stayed in UK for more than a day after the race!!"

Other racing professionals like Ramji Govindarajan (Team Boss, Ten 10 Racing) said "This is most irritating issue for us (Indians) when we go race abroad" as was his rider Sarath Kumar was denied visa to take part in the Moto GP 125cc pre-season  testing in Spain during February 2011.

Sailesh Bolisetti who hails from Vizag (Vishakapatnam) also recently reported that his Fan Page in Facebook with more than 1000 followers was hacked or destroyed. As the page did not exist for few days and majority of content lost, Sailesh had to create a new page.

Sailesh's team Lotus Sport UK tried to contact the Embassy but there was no response and he was asked to apply again. If Sailesh doesnt go, the team and co driver Phil Glew will have to back out from the race which will be a huge hit on their Championship chances.

We urge the Indian Government (Sports Authority) and the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs in India (FMSCI) intervene in this issue and help make the process smoother with Foreign Embassies for the development of the sport in the country.
