Hamilton victorious in Montreal, Canada
Lewis Hamilton won his 3rd Canadian Grand Prix and also became the 7th driver this year to win a GP in 7races, creating F1 History.
Pole sitter Vettel took a clean start to lead the race from the lights followed by Hamilton and Alonso. Vettel seemed like to have made up a cushion over Hamilton and Alonso immediately but as the first pit stop took place by lap 14 Vettel had to pit for fresh and hard compound tires as drivers were suffering with the soft compound due to high track temperatures. Hamilton pitted a lap later but undercut the lead and came out ahead of Vettel on track. Alonso stayed for few more laps before pitting but cut few more seconds with his extra stint and came out ahead just ahead of Hamilton grabbing the lead of the race.
Alonso looked as if he made a gap over Hamilton but the brit pulled up some good pace from his car and managed to close on the Ferrari. Within a few laps Hamilton pulled a clever move on Alonso at the DRS zone and nailed the hammer to cushion over 3.5secs. By lap 50, race leader Hamilton had to pit for a 2nd stop and there were lots of strategy discussions on the pit stops as Vettel and Alonso looked to pit only once. Hamilton joined the track on 3rd behind Alonso and Vettel and looked poised and hungry to win the race more than anyone else. Hamilton started to lap in 1:17s and 1:16s to hunt down Vettel and Alonso. With 7laps to go Hamilton overtook the struggling RedBull of Vettel and in couple of laps passed Alonso's Ferrari.
Alonso started to wade off immediately as Grosjean's Lotus and Perez's Sauber who were also on a single stop overtook him. Vettel couldnt avoid a second stop as he was losing grip too much and came back with fresh tyres to set the fastest lap of the race and overcoming the Ferrari of Alonso to take 4th.
Romain Grosjean and Sergio Perez drove an amazing race with just 1 stop to finish in 2nd and 3rd as Hamilton took the chequered flag.
Vettel and Alonso finished 4th and 5th followed by Nico Rosberg, Mark Webber and Kimi Raikkonen. Michael Schumacher's race ended in the pits with a DRS hydraulic failure. Jenson Button had a miserable race with tyre degradation issues as he managed to finish 16th with a lap down of team mate Hamilton.
The Force India cars finished 11th and 12th while Narain Karthikeyan and his HRT team mate retired due to brake issues
