INDIAN GP TICKETS LAUNCHED
This October the nation will experience a sporting event of an extraordinary scale, The Indian F1 GP. India´s first formula 1 track in Noida will host the first ever Formula 1 race in the country. Formula 1 is a global motoring circus travelling across 16 countries over 18 races. It is also the costliest sport in the planet and it has evolved into a multibillion dollar business.
With final phase of works nearing completion and the date of the final inspection by FIA scheduled on Sept 2nd, the Indian GP organizer Jaypee Group launched the sale of the tickets for the Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix in Delhi on 20th August.
The event will span 3days from Friday (Practice Sessions), Saturday (Practice & Qualifying)and the main race day on Sunday, October 30th.
The ticket prices for the event range from Rupees 2500/–, 6000/–, 6500/–, 8,500/–, 12,500/–, 35,000/–(Main Grand Stand) based on the locations at the track. Ticket are valid for 3 days (28th Friday, 29th Saturday & 30th Sunday).
The launch was attended by current Indian F1 stars Narain Karthikeyan (HRT) and Karun Chandhok(Team Lotus). Narain confirmed his drive at the Indian GP on the HRT while his younger compatriot Karun maintained he´s still in talks with the Team Lotus.
Later in Chennai Karun said "1000 tickets were sold on the launch day. The event is during the Diwali season and it spans to be a long weekend end of holiday for us Indians and we hope the crowds throng to the track for the race and enjoy the weekend"
