Lewis Hamilton seizes pole beating Rosberg for the Spanish Grand Prix
Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton was back to his pole winning ways in Spain after being beaten by his team mate Nico Rosberg in China and Russia.
The battle between the Mercedes team mate raged once again but Hamilton´s back into contention was even exciting as he claimed pole beating Rosberg by 280s of a second in a last gasp attempt of 1:22:00 seconds after locking up and going wide at Turn 10 in his previous lap.
Ferraris were expected to be closer to the Mercedes or even split them but they lost thier pace and was beaten by the RedBulls of Daniel Ricciardo and the newly promoted Max Verstappen for the second row.
Kimi Raikkonen outpaced his Ferrari team mate Sebastian Vettel to lead the third row while Valteri Bottas on the Williams will start 7th ahead of Carlos Sainz Jr. in the Torro Rosso.
Sergio Perez on the Force India grabbed 9th on the grid ahead of home boy Fernando Alonso who brought in his McLaren into Q3 for the first time.
Felipe Massa of Williams failed to enter Q2 as his team mistimed his return to the track and failed to start his fast lap before the chequered flag.
