Armaan Ebrahim misses out on points at Spa
Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium): A collision four laps from the finish cost Armaan Ebrahim points-scoring position in the sixth round of the Formula 2 Championship here on Sunday.

Armaan, sponsored by JK Tyre, Amaron and Trimex, was running ninth after carving his way from 14th when he came together with Thiemo Storz. The incident ended Armaan's challenge with a damaged suspension.

"It was a disappointing weekend from the perspective of scoring points. On Sunday, I was very much in the running for points after starting from 14th position and moving to ninth.

"With four laps to go, I attempted a pass on Storz going into the first corner, but he shut the door and we made contact. I suffered damage to the suspension and it put me out of the race," said Armaan.

In the Race 1 on Saturday that started in heavy rains, the 22-year old Armaan finished 13th after qualifying in 14th position.

"In the Saturday's qualifying session, I thought I had a good chance of finishing in top-10, but on my boost lap, I ran into traffic.

"The race started in the rains. I opted for high down-force instead of low in view of the wet conditions, but it proved to be a bad call because it stopped raining after the race started.

"I moved to 10th position after three laps, but others passed me on the long straight after Eau Rouge. The high down-force was a bad call as I became a sitting duck on the long straights," Armaan said.

Looking ahead to rounds seven and eight to be run at Nurburgring, Germany, on July 2-3, Armaan said: "We have made some progress, but we have to make sure we don' get involved in any incidents such as the one in Spa. I am hoping for the best."
