Lorenzo grabs sensational Misano pole

Yamaha rider Jorger Lorenzo dominated qualifying with a sensational pole position lap at Rossi´s backyard Misano. Lorenzo trails Rossi by 12 points in the championship with 6 races to go and is all poised to beat Rossi at his home track. Lorenzo broke circuit lap record on Friday Practice 2 and topped Practice 3 and 4. 

Marquez tried to match with Lorenzo but lost time in sector 3 and ended up just 0.106s of a second behind. 

Championship leader Valentino Rossi struggled initially in the practice sessions at the newly surfaced track but managed to grab a front row slot just 0.212s slower than Lorenzo. 

Pedrosa (Honda), Pirro (Ducati) & Smith (Tech 3 Yamaha) completed the 2nd row ahead of an all Ducati Iannone, Dovizioso and Pirro in the 3rd row.
