Nico Rosberg emerged victorious in Austria

Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg emerged victorious in Austria after losing pole yesterday by stealing the lead right into C1 from Hamilton with an awesome start. Hamilton tried to attack his team mate immediately but it went in vain due to safety car situation as Alonso and Raikkonen had a scary crash but got out safely.

As the race restarted Rosberg took off immediately to get some gap over Hamilton who inturn tried very hard to keep up with the leader while Vettel was running third.

McLaren faced double retirement as Jenson Button faced mechanical problems and retired in the pits.

Hamilton tried to get closer to Rosberg during his pit stop but a slower pit stop for Hamilton did not give any advantage and the gap started widen. Hamilton chase got even worse  as he got a penalty of 5 secs after crossing the white line at the pit exit.

Ferrari lost their podium position with a troubled pit stop for Vettel as the wheel nut got stuck losing valuable time.

Hamilton reduced the gap to Rosberg to 2secs towards the last few laps of the race but Rosberg safely took his second win in Austria and closed the gap to Hamilton to just 10 points in the championship standings.

Williams driver Filipe Massa took first podium of the year defending Sebastian Vettel´s attack on the last few laps.
