Karun Chandhok annouces Karun´s Karting Carnival 2015 in UK

Karun Chandhok, currently racing in Formula E for Mahindra Racing Team has announced the 2015 edition of Karun´s Karting Carnival, a Charity Event to be held in UK. 

The Indian driver has been running this charity event in UK for the past few years where the fans & public can participate in a karting race and donate for a charity. 

The aim of this event is to raise money for educating underprivileged children in India.

Karun’s Karting Carnival” is back !! As ever, our aim is to raise money for educating underprivileged children in India and the event will once again have a mix of fans and non–paddock people racing alongside people from within the world of motorsport.

The event is in the afternoon on Saturday, the 1st of August. Being a weekend in the summer, we hope to have a great turn out once again!

Last year, we introduced new and faster Karts from Sodi and we’ll carry on with the same ones again but this time, we’ll run on the full International circuit! The format will be a 30 minute practice / qualifying session, two 60 minute heats and a 45 minute grand final, so there’s plenty of driving !

Every team consists of 3 drivers and we request that you please enter as a team of 3 and NOT as individuals.

We ask you to please make a donation of £60 pounds per driver, in cash on the day to the charity run by our family, The Vishnu Devananda Charitable Trust in India. There is no additional cost for the karts and all we ask is that you make the donation to the charity.

The schedule for the event is as follows

1300 – 1400 – Group 1 sign on
1400 – 1430 – Group 1 Free Practice / Qualifying
1445 – 1545 – Group 1 Heat
1550 – All Drivers photograph
1500 – 1600 – Group 2 sign on
1600 – 1630 – Group 2 Free Practice / Qualifying
1645 – 1745 – Group 2 Heat
1800 – 1845 – Grand Final ( top 10 teams in each Heat )
1900 – Podium

We once again ask that you enter as a team and not as individual drivers. The teams will be allocated on a first come – first serve basis to fill the slots. We would love to have your friends and family come along as the cheering squad !
