Lorenzo stuns everyone with a record breaking pole in Jerez

Home lad Jorge Lorenzo is back again with the devil to grab a stunning lap record breaking pole in Jerez, Spain beating fellow countryman Marc Marquez.

Lorenzo doimnated all practice sessions and qualifying to take the top slot on the grid for the Spanish Grand Prix. The Yamaha rider has come in full force after a dismal 3 races which was dominated by team mate Valentino Rossi.

Lorenzo took a 3 run strategy in Q2 and set his lap record breaking pole time on the final run and led the entire session. Marc Marquez came in 2nd quickest after crashing in FP4.

Andrea Iannone on the Ducati grabbed the final front row spot while Pol Espargaro came in 4th fastest ahead of Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) and elder brother Aleix Espargaro on the Suzuki in 6th.

Cal Crutchlow, Andrea Dovizioso and Yonny Hernandez fill the 3rd row.
